o Sodium Water Glass (Sodium Silicate Solution)
o Available in:
o SKU 20231 bottle with 1 liter
o SKU 20232 canister with 5 liters
o Properties: colorless – liquid – odorless. Pure mineral binder, breathable, suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
o Water glass is a very old and proven product and can be used in many ways, for example:
o For impregnating and sealing materials such as ceramics, bricks, fireplaces, bio-stones, consolidation of masonry, etc.
o As corrosion protection, for example by dipping screws and nails.
o As an adhesive for paper, e.g. for crafts.
o As a stripping agent: to remove oil paints and varnishes from wood and other less sensitive materials.
o For painting and wallpapering work to renovate substrates: Attention: the surface to be treated must be clean, grease-free, and stable. Remove old plaster, residues, and non-adherent coatings beforehand. Absorbency can be reduced by diluting the sodium water glass with water in a ratio of up to 1:3.
o Consumption depending on substrate: approx. 100 ml to 200 ml per square meter.
o Sodium water glass is supplied ready for use. The concentrated sodium silicate solution can be diluted with water depending on the application, up to a ratio of 1:10. It consolidates and impregnates sandy plasters. Suitable as a primer for silicate paints. Ideal for strengthening mineral substrates through the so-called silicification process. Used to standardize and reduce substrate absorbency. The sodium water glass can be applied with a brush or a suitable spraying device. Clean tools immediately with water after use.
o Suitable brushes, cloths, brushes, and bowls for application are included in our product range.
